Canvas print is part of the larger printing ecosystem within Google Photos, letting you turn your digital memories into physical prints.

Seemless editing

Users can directly edit their print from the Photos app. If they wanted to edit more details, they could dive deeper into the edit flow.

Find the right size

Sometimes it's hard envision how much space the canvas would take up on the wall. Users can easily get a sense of the sizing via reference images.

Available on mobile and web

In addition to designing for Android and iOS, I also designed the web experience. We optimized for simplicity so that users could easily see how their prints would look.

Thoughts

Designing for iOS, Android, and web is quite fun to explore the nuisances of each of the different platforms. I learned about the different technical constraints from each engineering team and negotiated with them for a consistent experience across all surfaces. Working on a project that had a physical output was also fascinating, as I learned about manufacturing and business impact.
